Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has last night launched its 'Transforming Tomorrow' initiative, under which they will be proceeding 15 major projects.
The projects were launched by Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed at a ceremony held last night at the Central Park in Hulhumale'.
A total of 15 projects, including additional housing projects and brand new introductions to Maldives, were launched last night. Models of some of the projects were also shown at the ceremony.
An MoU was also signed for the design consultancy and conducting necessary trainings for the operation of isle Adventure Park. The MoU was signed by HDC's Managing Director Ibrahim Fazul Rasheed and City Developments Pvt Ltd Director David Pieris.
Isle Adventure Park will be equipped with a racing track, drift track, go-kart track, roller skating rink and a water theme park.
The projects fall under the initiative to develop the islands under HDC as per the manifesto of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
Also launched last night was a prefab housing project designed for RasMale' project, two additional social housing projects in Hulhumale', row house project, and Binveriya housing scheme.
Under the rowhouse project, 32 units will be constructed in Hulhumale' Phase 2. These private rowhouses will be developed to include exclusive clubhouses and a swimming pool.
HDC further plans to conduct two social housing projects. Through this, 2100 flats will be built in Hulhumale'. Also under the project, commercial units will also be built which will be up for offer for local businesses.
The 'Modern Prefab Homes' project is aimed at those who receive land plots through the Binveriya scheme. This project will be conducted through the Hiyaavehi loan scheme launched by the government this month.
Also included are Farukolhufushi gated community project with luxury villas, a dedicated office complex for SOEs, HDC Head Office building with commercial space, 15 parking buildings, and an Elderly Care Facility.
Additionally, HDC plans to establish a History Centre, Knowledge park and 'Nooveli' luxury homes in the lagoon.
