Aa Jeelakah and SUS depart to play in the LaLiga Youth Tournament

Both Aa Jeelakah and SUS football academies will be participating in the LaLiga Youth Tournament in Malaysia.

Two Maldivian football academies Super United Sports (SUS) and Aa Jeelakah have departed to participate in Spain's LaLiga Youth Tournament in Malaysia.

SUS's team flew to Malaysia last night while Aa Jeelakah flew this morning.

The tournament is held for age groups between under eight to under 21 categories. Both academies are participating in the tournament's under 16 category.

Aa Jeelakah was placed in Group D of the tournament along with Thailand's Chiangmai F.C. and KDH and White Tigers from Malaysia.

Both teams feature players with experience in senior club levels locally, alongside members from the national under-16 team. Additionally, the Aa Jeelalakah team includes players from the Valencia academy.

Ethan Ibrahim Zaki, who plays for Spain's Huesca is also in the Aa Jeelakah squad.

The Aa Jeelakah team will be coached by Ismail Asif (Kuda Heena) of Valencia while the SUS team will be coached by Fareed Mohamed (Faritte).

Individual players who demonstrate the best performance during the tournament would then be selected to participate in the LaLiga camp held in Madrid.

Apart from Maldives, many Asian countries including Malaysia itself will be participating in the tournament.
