The tournament will initially feature the Qualifying Draw matches. Teams that come first in each group of the Qualifying Draw will be selected for the Main Draw with the seeded teams. The best teams in the four groups of the Main Draw will then proceed tot he Knockout rounds.'
The Maldives women's team consists of Aishath Shiura Abdul Bari, Raeefa Ibrahim, Zuha Ashraf Ali and Aishath Inasha.
Teams playing with Maldives in the women's Qualifying Draw C are Kazakhstan, Vietnam and Iran. In the first match played yesterday morning, Maldives lost 2-21 to Kazakhstan. In this match, points were earned by Zuha and Shiura.
The second match yesterday afternoon, against Vietnam, also saw Maldives lose 8-21. Zuha secured three points in this match, with Raeefa and Inasha scoring two points. Shiura also secured one point.
Maldives' last match will be against Iran today.
The Maldives' men's team will be playing Qualifying Draw C with Iran, Papua New Guinea and Kazakhstan.
The team consists of Khuvailid Ali, Ismail Vildhan Yoosuf, Abdulla Amzar Mohamed and Mafaz Mohamed.
In the first match, Maldives lost to Iran yesterday with a score of 9-21. In this match, Mafaz gained 6 points, while Khuvailid scored two. Vildhan also secured a point.
The remaining two matches in the Qualifying Draw for Maldives will be played today.
