Managing Director of State Trading Organization (STO) Shimad Ibrahim has stated that STO is making efforts to remodel itself into a carbon-neutral company with several plans mapped out for this initiative in addition to ongoing work to achieve this aim.
Managing Director of State Trading Organization (STO) Shimad Ibrahim has stated that the company is making various efforts to transform itself into a carbon-neutral company.
While delivering the company's performance report at the STO Annual General Meeting held last night, Shimad said that the company is striving towards modifying their operations in an environmentally friendly manner.
"In order to achieve our goal, we are making efforts to reduce toxic fumes released into the atmosphere through STO operations by 25 percent come 2030 and make the company a carbon neutral company by 2050," said Shimad.
He added that the company is expending several efforts at various standards to achieve this vision even at present, such as selling home appliances that are labeled energy-efficient.
Shimad had further affirmed at the meeting last night that multiple efforts are ongoing to fortify the company's operations as well.
The company has planned to strengthen its ecommerce platform, digitalize their services and develop the infrastructure of their headquarters in addition to advancing office buildings to contemporary standards and increasing storage spaces, revealed Shimad.
