Despite the loss, Suzain identified several positives and pointed out areas for improvement.
Maldives National football team coach Ali Suzain reflected on his team's 3-0 defeat to India in a friendly match last night, highlighting the key issue as the team's inability to control the ball effectively.
He mentioned that India dominated possession as part of their preparation for their upcoming Asian Cup qualifier against the Philippines.
Suzain said that his players struggled with the cold weather in Shillong but expressed satisfaction with their overall performance, particularly in defense.
"The team played a good game, especially defensively," Suzain said, noting that there were very few gaps in their defense during the match.
Despite the loss, Suzain identified several positives and pointed out areas for improvement.
"The match showed us where we need to improve," he said, with a focus on defending against free-kick attacks and capitalizing on attacking opportunities.
Both of India's first two goals came from free kicks, and Suzain said that these areas would be a priority for improvement in preparation for the upcoming game against the Philippines.
India's goals were scored by retired forward Sunil Chhetri, who netted two goals and Rahul Bheke, who added a third goal.
