Air Arabia is scheduled to operate flights to Maldives every day.
Air Arabia, the Middle East and North Africa's first and largest low cost carrier, has commenced scheduled flights to Maldives.
The airline's first flight, which departed from the UAE's Sharjah International Airport, landed at Velana International Airport (VIA) on Su day, with a water salute welcome.
Air Arabia is now scheduled to operate flights to the island nation everyday via Airbus A320 aircrafts. The flights will depart UAE at 08:00 hrs local time and will arrive in the Maldives at 14:20 hrs, as per the schedules.
Adel Abdullah Ali, the airline's CEO said that its flights to Maldives is an opportunity for them to expand their operations and that this would enable affordable travel between both destinations.
Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL)'s CEO Ibrahim Shareef said that Air Arabia's flights allow the expansion of the middle eastern market, which would boost the number of tourists arriving from the region.
The Air Arabia fleet has a total of 77 aircrafts including A320 and A321s, and the airline is further expanding its operations.
