Trips to Dhaka cancelled due to technical issues with Maldivian Airbus

Maldivian has cancelled two trips to Dhaka, Bangladesh today due to technical troubles faced by one of their Airbus aircrafts. Maldivian however arranged thoee passengers to travel through another airline.

Maldives's flagship airline, Maldivian Aero had cancelled trips to Dhaka, Bangladesh that were scheduled for Saturday following technical issues faced by one of their Airbus aircraft.

The airline stated that both the trips had to be cancelled due to technical issues.

A Maldivian flight to Trivandrum, India from Velana International Airport (VIA) on June 23 had also turned around and landed back at VIA, with Maldivian announcing at the time that the flight was cancelled due to technical issues.

The airline assured that those unable travel due to cancellation of the flight to Dhaka yesterday are bring redirected to other airlines and arranged their travels accordingly.

Maldivian currently uses ite Airbus aircrafts for trips to Cochin and Trivandrum, India.

While Maldivian has an an Airbus A320 aircraft in its fleet, their A321 aircraft previously used earlier was sent back in 2022 following its expiration.

Maldivian is seeking two additional Airbus aircrafts as well. Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Ameen had also earlier assured that two additional aircrafts will be obtained for the airline before the end of the year.

The airline's fleet currently comprises of 23 aircrafts, including four ATR's.
