President Dr Mohamed Muizzu merged the Ministry of Climate Change, Environment and Energy and Ministry of Tourism, forming the Ministry of Tourism and Environment.
He then appointed then Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim as Minister of Tourism and Environment.
In today's vote in parliament, Thoriq received unanimous votes in favour from all MPs who voted.
With the merger of these two ministries, this administration currently has 20 ministries.
