Two employees of Civil Service Commission (CSC) who were on suspension due to allegations of having spied on commission staff have handed in their resignations.

A CSC Official said today that the two resigned of their own volition last week when the commission had sent them notice of dismissal, asking for their responses.

The two who resigned are Information and Communication Technology Director General Hassan Farish Rasheed and Data Centre Engineering Consultant Mohamed Adhham Moosa.

Police, meanwhile, are investigating the allegations against them.

The two are accused of spying on commission staff through installing a software which allowed them to see all correspondences on the staff's systems, as well as give them access to their personal passwords. By the time the issue had come to light in November last year, the software had been in use for two years.

Once the issue became known, the two were suspended, with their suspension having later been extended twice.
