Customs seized 3kg of drugs

Maldives Customs Service, on Wednesday, revealed that three kilograms of cannabis oil and heroin were confiscated from Velana International Airport.

Customs reported that one Maldivian and one Indian were arrested with cannabis oil. They flew to Maldives on two separate planes.

The airport security found 1491 grams of hash oil and 529 grams of heroin from a Maldivian national, who was travelling from Sri Lanka, upon his suspicious behaviour.

The Indian who was arrested flew from India to Maldives and he was arrested with 998 grams of hash oil.

The drugs seized were handed over to Maldives Police Service.
