Thinadhoo accident victim succumbs to injuries

The victim of April's serious accident in GDh. Thinadhoo, where a car and a motorcycle collided, has died from her injuries.

The accident occurred on April 27 when a car and a motorcycle crashed near the old Friday Mosque in Thinadhoo.

The victim who died was a 31 year old Maldivian female, who had been driving the motorcycle.

She was initially taken to the Dr AbduSamad Memorial Hospital in Thinadhoo, after which she was transferred to Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital in capital Male' later that day due to the severity of her injuries.

Police earlier said that a brain surgery had been conducted on her, after which she suffered an infection and had to be treated in the hospital's Intensive Care Unit.

She died today while receiving treatment. She is survived by a 9 year old son.

Funeral prayers were held after Isha tonight at Aa Sahara Mosque, according to the 'Kashunamaadhu' page.

Police earlier said that the driver of the car had been questioned. No further details were disclosed as the accident was under investigation.
