A youth who was involved in a deadly collision between a motorbike and a pickup truck in Hulhumalé 2 a week earlier, has passed away.
Ahmed Zain, 20, from Haa Dhaalu atoll Nellaidhoo, passed away while receiving intensive care at the Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH). Zain had been transferred to IGMH from Hulhumalé Hospital and was under ventilator treatment at the time of his passing.
IGMH reported that Zain was in critical condition when he was transferred to the hospital.
Dangerous accidents have been increasing at an alarming rate in Hulhumalé recently. On Friday, a construction truck rolled over in Hulhumalé 2, injuring two children and the truck’s driver. All three were transported to Hulhumalé Hospital for medical attention.
