The 1,202 cases were the total number of positive cases the past week. HPA said 528 cases were from the Greater Male' Area, 452 from inhabited islands, and 222 from unspecified other avenues. This brings up the total number of Covid cases in Maldives to 181,586.

So far, 305 people have died from Covid.

HPA did not released the number of people that tested for Covid. However, since they have said that the Covid positivity rate is at 35 percent between June 19 to June 25, it can be estimated that approximately 3,400 had tested for Covid during this period.

Covid positivity rate had been at 21 percent the previous week.

So far 384,510 people had received two doses of the Covid vaccine. This is 84.9 percent of the eligible population. A total of 163,499 people had gotten a booster dose as well, which is 36.1 percent of the eligible population.

HPA had started administering a second booster shot to the elderly, and people with high risk medical conditions last week as well.

While the agency have not brought back additional health measures or precautions, they have urged to halt all "unnecessary" events, and encourages mask use in public places.
