Maldives Airports Company Ltd (MACL) announced that the company is sending its first team of female firefighters abroad for training.
A total of 19 MACL staff members, 12 women and seven men, will participate in the two-month 'Basic Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting' course to be held in Palembang, Indonesia.
MACL's Managing Director Moosa Solih met with the participants of the course and declared that this was a big win for MACL in the government's efforts to empower women.
Moreover, he stated that MACL fire team's efforts deserved high praise, guaranteeing that the team leaving for training will make the country proud.
