Maldives has expressed strong condemnation of Israel’s recent military airstrikes targeting Iran.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the attacks a violation of Iran's sovereignty and international law.

Maldives government urged an immediate de-escalation of hostilities, warning that the ongoing violence poses a serious threat to regional stability.

The statement further appealed to all parties involved to exercise maximum restraint, respect international law, and work toward diffusing tensions.

Additionally, Maldives called on the international community to support measures aimed at an immediate cessation of hostilities and to promote dialogue for sustainable peace in the region.

Israel’s recent airstrikes follow Iran’s threat to retaliate after missile attacks on Israel on October 1. Israel has warned of a stronger response should Iran retaliate.

The ongoing conflict has reportedly resulted in over 1,000 fatalities in Lebanon, forcing over 100,000 people to flee to Syria. In Gaza, over 42,000 people have been killed in what some describe as ongoing acts of genocide by Israel.
