The nomination follows the resignation of CSC Vice-President Ibrahim Rasheed, leaving a vacancy in the five-member commission. Only Mujthaz’s name has been proposed for the role.
President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has nominated former Hanimaadhoo MP Mohamed Mujthaz for appointment to the Civil Service Commission (CSC), submitting his name to Parliament for consideration.
The nomination follows the resignation of CSC Vice-President Ibrahim Rasheed, leaving a vacancy in the five-member commission. Only Mujuthaz’s name has been proposed for the role.
Mujthaz previously served as the Member of Parliament for Hanimaadhoo constituency in the 17th Parliament. He also held the position of State Minister at the President’s Office during the administration of former President Abdulla Yameen.
The matter is now with Parliament, which will decide whether to approve Mujuthaz’s appointment to the independent commission responsible for overseeing the country’s civil service.
