A Police media official said that the case was lodged from an island between Noonu and Lhaviyani atoll. The case was reported on January 20 where two people in positions of trust abused a girl last year and two years before that.
Police said that the case is under investigation, but no arrests have been made as of yet.
As per the law, in cases involving minors, Police do not reveal any information that may compromise the identities of the children involved.
