Iranian air defense forces have shot down a US LUCAS drone, flying over the south of the country, the Iranian army said on Sunday.
"A US LUCAS drone was shot down and destroyed by the army’s air defense fire... in the skies over Bandar Abbas," the army was quoted by the Iranian state radio and television company as saying.
On February 28, the United States and Israel began striking targets in Iran, to which Iran responded with strikes of its own. In mid-June, Tehran and Washington signed a memorandum aimed at a cessation of hostilities, but shortly afterward, they exchanged strikes again. At present, the conflict remains unresolved.
