US President Donald Trump said on Friday he had discussed with UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham the North Sea energy project.
"We discussed the fact that they're opening up the North Sea oil, and that's going to make the UK a very rich country," Trump told reporters.
When asked if Ukraine or Iran were also touched upon during the conversation, Trump replied in the affirmative.
"We did very lightly," the president added.
On Wednesday, Trump welcomed the United Kingdom approving drilling at a gas field in the North Sea, calling on London to go "full blast" in its endeavor.
The UK government announced that it intends to start extraction from the Jackdaw gas field located some 149 miles east of Aberdeen, Scotland.
Burnham argued that the decision is the right one, notably as people struggle with fuel prices. Drilling gives the country a possibility of "responsibly maximizing" its existing energy stocks.
