Democrats will be virtually unable to hinder the implementation of US President Donald Trump's political agenda, even if they gain control of the Congress, US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said on Tuesday.

"Well, I think there's very little," Bessent told 2WAY TV when asked about what the Democrats could do to prevent the president's accomplishments.

The United States will hold midterm congressional elections on November 3 to elect 35 senators and all 435 members of the House of Representatives, alongside legislative and gubernatorial races in many states.

According to analysts, the Republican Party risks losing control of the House of Representatives to Democrats. Experts attribute a potential loss of the congressional majority to dwindling approval ratings of the Trump administration amid the military campaign against Iran and rising prices, notably those of fuel.
