UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is traveling to Indonesia in a bid to deepen cooperation between the Southeast Asian nation and the world body, Deputy Spokesman Farhan Haq said on Friday.

"Early tomorrow morning, the Secretary-General will travel to Indonesia for an official visit," Haq said during a press briefing. "He will discuss among other things strengthened cooperation between Indonesia and the United Nations in the multilateral system."

The trip also includes a visit to the Indonesia Armed Forces Peacekeeping Center, the spokesman said, adding that Guterres will meet with peacekeepers that will join the UN Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in the Central African Republic.
