German aviation holding company Lufthansa Group has extended the suspension of its flights to the Saudi capital of Riyadh through November 18, the airline's press office told RIA Novosti.

The Lufthansa Group had previously suspended flights to this destination until October 16.

The decision comes amid the current situation in the Middle East, the company said.

In early October, Yemen's Ansar Allah movement, also known as the Houthis, warned workers at Saudi Arabian oil facilities of potential attacks. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree told Al Masirah broadcaster, reiterated a warning to airlines, airports, their staff, and travelers regarding the dangers of using Saudi airports, declaring them a military operation zone in response to strikes on Yemen.
