As of now this year, MVR 325 million has been spent on Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP) projects.

Finance Ministry records show that this is a 40 percent decrease compared to the same period last year. Last year, February 13, MVR 819 million was spent on PSIP projects.

The largest spending under this was on the airport development projects, land reclamation and harbour construction. For airport projects, MVR 208 million was spent, while MVR 74 million was spent on land reclamation and MVR 28 million on harbour construction.

Unlike other years, this year's budget does not include details of the planned PSIP projects.

This year's budget has an allocation of MVR 12.4 billion on PSIP projects. Of these, MVR 3 billion is for new projects.
