Singha Estate of Thailand has awarded the management of water sports and recreation at "Crossroads", the mega integrated leisure destination being developed in Emboodhoo Lagoon, to Best Dives Private Limited.
A special ceremony was held at Crossroads where agreements were signed between both parties.
Best Dives said that the water sports and recreational activities carried out at Crossroads would include scuba diving, as well as a range of motorized and non-motorized water sports, to allow visitors to explore the underwater beauty of Maldives. In addition to these recreational activities,, the company would also arrange excursions to different islands, providing a more intimate look into the culture of Maldives.
Expressing in being involved with the Crossroads project from when they first heard of it, Best Dives attributed their enthusiasm to the uniqueness of the multi-island integrated leisure and recreation destination resort concept.
While speaking at the ceremony, Singha Estate revealed that a special marine biologist from Best Dives will work to revive the coral reefs at the resort. The company stated that the marine biologist is to play a key role in the awareness programmes to be conducted by the Marine Discovery Centre, for tourists as well as resort staff.
Singha Estate also stated that apart from water sports and diving, Best Dives have also had over ten years of experience in providing excursions and luxury yacht charter services in Maldives, noting that the company had been serving in both high-end luxury resorts and budget resorts, whilst maintaining the quality of their services.
Singha Estate expressed confidence that, in collaboration with Best Dives, major changes could be brought about within the Maldivian tourism industry, opening new doors for tourists.
According to Singha Estate, this will allow for the creation of a new market segment that will enable more opportunities for businesses in the Maldives.
