Singha Estate Public Company of Thailand, the contractor of the integrated destination "Crossroads" being developed in Kaafu Atoll's Emboodhoo lagoon, has appointed Jalboot Holdings of UAE to manage its luxury marina.
Under the contract signed last Tuesday, the Abu Dhabi-based firm will provide all transportation solutions and other services for Crossroads, in addition to marina management.
After the signing, Singha Estate Public Company's CEO Narish Cheklin said, "Singha Estate is very excited about this collaboration with Jalboot. They are the perfect partner for Crossroads as our upscale water transportation and services that will bring in the new marina experiences."
In addition to the marine, Jalboot Holdings will also open a "one-stop shop" retailer at Crossroad's leisure and entertainment hub, Township.
Furthermore, Jalboot is to provide a range of cruise services with six luxury vessels, including ferry transportation from Velana International Airport, and a yacht chartering service. The company will additionally operate air-conditioned electric Dhoni boats to provide transportation within the lagoon. These boats specifically designed for Maldives are equipped with air-conditioning, and can transport over 4,000 passengers daily.
Founded in 2013, Jalboot Holdings is one of the leading firms in the marine transport industry, providing vessel designs, and construction and operation of ferry services.
The USD 800 million Emboodhoo lagoon project is the largest integrated tourism project undertaken in the Maldives, based on an integrated leisure and recreation destination resort concept. The Hardrock brand resort being developed in the first phase of the project, is scheduled to be unveiled on October 1.
