A total of 5,142 cases were registered in the Civil Court in 2023, which is a 12.96 percent increase compared to the previous year. Of these, 2,449 cases were filed last year alone.
Civil Court reported that by the end of last year, 4,759 cases remained pending, with two-thirds of them related to sentence enforcement.
According to statistics released yesterday, 2,368 of these pending cases were enforcement cases. Additionally, 2,047 cases were classified as disputes, while 344 were categorized as undisputed.

The court, along with its Hulhumale' Division, completed 5,432 cases in 2023, an increase of 17.57 percent from the previous year. The number of resolved cases includes 3,268 dispute cases, 621 undisputed cases, and 1,543 enforcement cases.
