The facility was closed for repairs on the orders of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, who visited Rasfannu with his family on 14 February and assessed its condition.
Housing and Construction Ministry has temporarily reopened the Rasfannu Beach in Male' to the public this week after completing most of the renovation work.
The facility was closed for repairs on the orders of President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, who visited Rasfannu with his family on February 14 and assessed its condition.
Following the repairs, the area has now reopened, and President Muizzu visited the site this afternoon. He was accompanied by Construction Minister Abdullah Muththalib and Local Government Minister Adam Shareef.
The Housing Ministry confirmed that the facility has been open to the public since this week, with further renovation work to be carried out.
So far, the government has completed the following:
- Sanding and levelling the eroded beach area
- Removing accumulated mud from the beach
- Repairing bathrooms
- Fixing damaged huts
- Restoring benches
- Repairing barbecue stands
