While Naifaru has scored three goals total in the Gold Cup, all were shot by Imran. He shot the earlier goal in the match where the team defeated Maafushi 1-0.
Naifaru now ranks second in Group D and holds six points. First rank in the group is held by Alifushi, who has won both matches they have played so far. Maafushi and Kendhoo each hold a point each.
The three best ranking teams in each group make it to the second rounds of Group stage. Based on goal difference, it currently seems as if Maafushi will rank third. Kendhoo can only take the lead if Alifushi wins against Maafushi today with a five goal difference.
In yesterday's match, Kendhoo's Malsoon Yameen scored a goal in the second minute and took the lead for the team.
Naifaru evened the score in the 19th minute, with Imran shooting a ball into the top corner of the goal.
The winning goal for Naifaru was also shot by Imran, at the 74th minute.
