A body was discovered near a lagoon in Vaavu atoll on Monday.
Maldives Police Service confirmed the body was discovered from the northwest trench line of Venfaru of the atoll. Authorities were informed of the finding at around 9:00 A.M. today.
The corpse has now been transferred into police custody. They said that they were looking into the matter to uncover more details.
While a body was discovered by local authorities on Monday, two seamen went missing on a boat earlier.
