Customs intercepts 11 kilograms of drugs attempted to be smuggled into Maldives by air

Customs has successfully intercepted 11.6 kilograms of drugs this month, on the 14th and 19th, with an estimated street value of 9.86 million rufiyaa. The seized substances include 0.68 kilograms of cathinone, 10.20 kilograms of cannabis, and 0.740 kilograms of heroin.

According to Customs, the drugs were found in a parcel that arrived from Korea on the 14th and in a shipment brought by air on the 19th. Despite the seizure, no arrests have been made in connection with this case.

Customs reports that the parcel from Korea contained 680 grams of synthetic cathinone, and the shipment also concealed 10.2 kilograms of heroin and cannabis.

The seized drugs have been handed over to the police for further investigation.
