This was announced via an official statement, which detailed that four wheeled vehicles which were required to be registered by the end of last year can now be registered for another six days. The deadline expires this coming Wednesday.
Registration applications are to be submitted to the Transport Ministry's portal 'eportal.mta.gov.mv' with all necessary documents.
According to the Road Vehicle Registration Regulation, motor vehicles can be registered only if a certain period has not expired from the year of manufacture of the vehicle. The regulation stipulates different periods for different types of vehicles, with a maximum period of 15 years.
