Maldives signs UN High Seas Treaty

Maldives has signed the United Nations' High Seas Treaty, also known as the agreement on Biodiversity Beyond National Jurisdiction (BBNJ) established last year.

The treaty aims to promote equity and fairness, tackle environmental degradation, combat climate change, promote sustainability, and prevent biodiversity loss in the high seas.
