Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has acquired land from Laamu atoll Gan for the building of a nursery.
Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has acquired land from Laamu atoll Gan for the building of a nursery.
The land allocation was arranged at a meeting held yesterday at the Laamu Gan council between members of the council and HDC Managing Director Mohamed Mauroof Jameel.
The land plot allocated for the nursery is 100,000 sqft in size.
HDC said that they had decided to build the nursery in order to participate in President Dr Mohamed Muizzu's initiative to plant five million trees.
HDC has decided to plant one million trees, with the nursery in Gan to be used for the purpose.
HDC said that the nursery will also be used to grow trees which will be planted in Hulhumale', Rasmale', Kudagiri, Thilafushi and Gulhi Falhu.
