A man arrested in possession of drugs has claimed in court that the drugs belong to his father.
A man arrested in possession of drugs has claimed in court that the drugs belong to his father.
The arrested in the case is a 23 year Maldivian man. When presented in court for his remand hearing yesterday, he has been placed in remand in custody for a period of 30 days.
He is being charged with possession, use and trafficking of drugs.
In court, the accused denied the charges. He instead claimed that the drugs found on him belong to his father.
Police, however, said that he had made no such claims at the time of his arrest.
Police said that in addition to a large quantity of drugs, materials used for packaging of drugs had been found in his possession.
