Zakiyya Moosa's son Moosa Rimzee, who was arrested last night after a heated argument about Zakiyya's death got heated and evolved into a physical altercation, has been released.

Police said today that when Rimzee was presented to court for his remand hearing, the court released him on conditional bail. The agency also said that he was arrested over a fight which happened on Thursday.

According to the court order, Ramzee assaulted a man named Ahmed Shujau and was arrested because he poses a threat to society and may engage in activities to destroy evidence.

Local reports say the fight broke out when Shujau spoke about Zakiyya's death in a café, which led Rimzee to get angry and assault Shujau.

Zakiyya, 50 at the time of her death, was found with major injuries to her neck. Those who saw her body claim her head was almost completely severed from the rest of her body. Islanders also question whether it would be possible for someone to have self-inflicted such wounds.

Although the islanders say the knife that lay next to Zakiyya's body was clean, Police refute these claims and say there was significant blood on both the knife and Zakiyya's clothes.

Analysis of the blood found on the knife is still ongoing. However, authorities say results have shown it was Zakiyya's blood.

Despite authorities claiming no evidence of foul-play, residents of Holhudhoo find it hard to believe, and have held a protest demanding justice for Zakiyya's death.

"There is no proof or evidence yet suggesting that this was caused by someone," Police Chief Inspector Mohamed Samih told a media briefing earlier this month.

Zakiyya's body was discovered by foreign workers who entered the premises to collect waste. At the time of the incident, Zakiyya's husband, son Ramzee and his wife as well as Zakiyya's grandchild were living in the house.
