Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) has prohibited the import and sale of Master Foods brand creamy chicken and mushroom cooking sauce.

According to a statement released last night, the sauce produced by Mars Australia Pvt Ltd contains eggs, but its label fails to include allergen information. As a result, the manufacturer has recalled affected batches from the market.

World Health Organization (WHO) alerted MFDA through the International Food Safety Authorities Network, confirming that the product has entered the Maldives. The omission of allergen information on the label poses a potential health risk to consumers.

To prevent any health concerns, MFDA has ordered that the sauce must not be imported or sold in the country.

The affected batches have the following expiration dates:

- 17/11/2025

- 22/12/2025

- 16/02/2026

- 20/04/2026

- 15/06/2026

The product comes in a 490g bottle with the barcode 9310012042006.
