The fibre broadband rollout, completed in phases over five years, now ensures that every household in the Maldives can benefit from the service.
Dhiraagu has introduced high-speed fibre broadband internet services to every inhabited island in Maldives.
This is the first time that high speed fibre broadband services have been provided in all inhabited islands in the country.
Speaking at a press conference, Dhiraagu Managing Director and CEO Ismail Rasheed described the initiative as the company’s largest project to date.
“Now, 100 percent of households in the Maldives have the opportunity to connect to Dhiraagu’s high-speed fibre broadband service,” Rasheed said.
He said that this expansion aligns with President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s efforts to enhance internet quality and affordability nationwide. Rasheed assured that Dhiraagu remains committed to advancing a digital Maldives in line with the government’s vision.
He highlighted the transformative impact of this development, emphasizing its potential to improve access to digital services, strengthen the economy, and drive the nation’s progress to new heights.
“Equal access to high-speed internet for all inhabited islands is a major step forward. This achievement reinforces our commitment to providing the best services to all customers,” Rasheed added.
