There are several reasons why the Amalfi Coast has become a popular vacation destination. From umbrella-dotted beaches to picturesque, bluff-hugging towns, Italy’s Amalfi Coast is an attraction unlike any other. Positano, with its numerous dining options and dazzling kaleidoscope of colorful buildings, is one of the most popular locations in the area.
While out shopping for locally made things like hand-painted ceramics to take home, one important accessory is undoubtedly the sunglasses. Travelers are likely to have multiple shades packed for their anticipated sun-soaked vacation, but there's something extra special about picking up a trendy gift that you can wear while on the road. With this in mind, the Hotel Poseidon in Positano has developed a program that allows guests to collaborate with a well-known designer to create customized sunglasses.
Guests at Hotel Poseidon will get the opportunity to meet Crescenzo Parlato, the owner of Creo Positano Glasses, and hear about the atelier's history as well as the 12-piece collection he designed for the family-owned establishment. Each pair in the collection has a different style, ranging from round to retro-inspired square frames, and comes in a variety of colors, including green, blue, and pink, which can be found in many of the hotel's 50 rooms, and some even have a floral pattern on the arm, similar to the tile-work at Hotel Poseidon. Parlato will create frames directly in front of your eyes once the frames that best suit an individual preference, is chosen.
Guests can use their new shades in the Hotel Poseidon's pool and while dining on the patio of Il Tridente Restaurant, or use them while driving the property's 1970s convertible Volkswagen Beetle. They will always have a piece of Positano with them no matter where they wear their new shades.
With a more than 60-year history, Hotel Poseidon is a true seaside terrace, well-equipped and completed, and its elegance makes it the ideal destination for the most discerning guests.
