Thirty two Police recruits were taken to the Addu Equatorial Hospital on Wednesday night due to food poisoning. Five had to be placed in the Intensive Care Unit, three of whom were later released along with the other recruits, leaving two still in hospital.
Police said that one of the two has been transferred out of the ICU to the General Ward now.
"Both are recovering now," Police said.
All the recruits were those signed up to begin basic training on Saturday at the Police College in Hithadhoo.
Mihaaru News reports that catering for the Police College is done by a company called Best Selection. This company runs multiple restaurants in both Addu and Male', and offer catering services as well.
