Maldives Immigration has detained five foreign individuals involved in running a prostitution network in the Maldives. Of these, four women were involved in prostitution, with one man acting as their agent.

Maldives Immigration said that the five were detained under a special operation run in collaboration with Police.
All five detained are nationals of Vietnam.
Immigration has released the identities of all five individuals. These are Van Hai Dinh, 35, male, and four females, Long Thi Huong, 37, Thi Nhung Nguyen, 35, Zas Ros Chau, 40, and Thi Kien Luu, 41.
Three of the women held work visas, Immigration said.
After further investigations, one of those detained was deported on January 17.
Immigration is currently working on deporting the rest of those detained as well.
