Four individuals were arrested last night in connection with a clash between two groups in Hithadhoo, Addu City on Friday.
Following a court order, four local youths, aged 18, 19, 20, and 23, were taken into custody.
During the altercation, a 30-year-old local man was attacked with a sharp object. According to the police, the injured man is currently receiving treatment at Addu Equatorial Hospital, and his condition is reported to be serious.
Recently, there have been incidents of violence in Malé as well. Although no one has been seriously injured in the violence in Malé City, three youths have been arrested in connection with the cases.
The police have initiated a special operation to enforce security measures in response to increased gang violence in both Malé City and Addu City.
