Distribution of dates gifted by Saudi has started

The distribution of 50 tons of dates, gifted by the Saudi Arabian government to the Maldives for the upcoming month of Ramadan, began today.

The distribution of 50 tons of dates, gifted by the Saudi Arabian government to the Maldives for the upcoming month of Ramadan, has begun today.

According to the calendar, Ramadan will begin on March 1.

The Islamic Ministry said dates will be distributed from today until the sixth of next month, every day from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. In the Male' area, dates will be distributed at the Islamic Center's conference hall.

In other islands, dates will be distributed through the island councils.

The ministry stated that in cities and islands, dates will be distributed to residential houses on a first-come, first-served basis, with one packet per house.

From this shipment of dates, there are 25 packets available for every 100 houses. The Islamic Ministry said the dates will be distributed by checking the house's electricity meter number and the recipient's ID card.

The Ministry has also decided to distribute dates to organizations that arrange iftar (breaking of fast) meals. They have opened registration for interested organizations.
