The three private insurance providers that had temporarily halted cashless services following the government’s policy change on Aasandha coverage have now resumed the service.

Under recent Aasandha reforms, Aasandha coverage is not available until private insurance limits are fully exhausted. This policy change, implemented last Friday, led some private insurers to halt their cashless services.

Allied Insurance had later resumed cashless service, and now Amana Takaful and Solarelle Insurance have followed suit.

When cashless services are unavailable, policyholders have to pay out of pocket and later submit receipts to their insurance providers for reimbursement.

With the public raising concerns about this, NSPA released a statement saying that if any persons do not receive private insurance coverage, or is unable to seek services, those persons will receive coverage from Aasandha.
