Villa Chairman Qasim Ibrahim has initiated the construction of a police station in Alifu Dhaalu Maamigili, funded through his donation.
The police stated that an agreement was signed between the police and the Villa Foundation for the construction of the police station in Maamigili, and the foundation-laying ceremony was held Thursday.
At the ceremony held in Maamigili, Police Commissioner Ali Shujau signed the agreement on behalf of the police and laid the foundation stone for the police station. Qasim, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for the Maamigili constituency and has provided numerous services to Maamigili, signed the agreement on behalf of the Villa Foundation.
Police said that this station in Maamigili is being built through Qasim's donation.
The facility will include an administrative building, police accommodation, and a mess room, according to police.
Police stated that the building is scheduled to be completed and handed over to the police within a period of one year.
