Former MP Ghafoor passes away

Former Member of Parliament for Faafu atoll Abdul Ghafoor Ibrahim has passed away today.

In addition to serving as a member of parliament, Ghafoor also filled many senior positions in the government as well.

Ghafoor passed away in India while receiving treatment for a stroke.

Speaker of Parliament Abdul Raheem Abdulla has sent a message of condolence to Ghafoor's family on his passing.

Ghafoor served as a Member of Parliament from 2005 to 2009.
