Shazly said that teams will be able to use FAM’s two turf fields at Maafannu Stadium and Vilimale' Football Stadium, as well as Henveiru Stadium, which is operated under the Ministry of Sports.
Ninety Plus has said that teams participating in the Gold Cup tournament will have access to practice at three stadiums managed by the Football Association of Maldives (FAM) as well as Henveiru Stadium in Male' area.
This comes after disagreement between Ninety Plus and FAM regarding the tournament being held without the association's involvement.
However, the issues have now been resolved, said Ninety Plus Co-founder and experienced coach Mohamed Shazly.
Shazly said that teams will be able to use FAM’s two turf fields at Maafannu Stadium and Vilimale' Football Stadium, as well as Henveiru Stadium, which is operated under the Ministry of Sports.
These stadiums can be used during the allocated times given to the Ministry.
FAM Chairperson Ahmed Zuhoor said that the stadiums would be made available to the Sports Ministry upon its request, in accordance with the principle of resource allocation between the ministry and FAM.
Teams participating in the Gold Cup are expected to begin arriving in Male' this week. The tournament itself is set to start Wednesday at the National Football Stadium.
