Principle of Center for Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) Aishath Sofoora has been appointed as a Minister of State at the Ministry of Education on Wednesday.
Sofoora has pursued higher education and has worked in the field for a long time. She worked for three years in Majeedhiyaa School and has been employed at CHSE for 22 years.
Upon assuming a political position, Sofoora has handed over the management of CHSE to the school’s deputy principal.
She obtained her first degree in Bangalore University, and obtained a double masters in two fields.
Of these, she worked for three years at Majeediyya School and 22 years at CHSE.
Sofoora earned her Master's degree in Art in Maths, Science, and Technology from Ohio State University in the US in 2006. She further pursued studies in public administration at MI College, completing her degree last year.
Currently, there are two Ministers of State in the Ministry of Education, including Sofoora.
A Minister of State's salary is MVR 32,000 per month, with MVR 15,000 per month in allowances, amounting to a total of MVR 47,000.
