Foundation stone of Raa Atoll Alifushi Airport Terminal has been laid by Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) CEO Adam Azim and Alifushi Council President Adam Imran.
MTCC said the completion of the airport terminal will bring major changes to the air traffic system in the area. People will then be able to travel to nearby Atolls from Alifushi in a short time.
The practical work of the Alifushi Airport has already started. The project is being carried out in conjunction with the dredging project in the island. Under the project, 50 hectares of land will be reclaimed.
The state is spending MVR 451 million on the two projects.
