Former cricket star and coach Mohamed Faiz Samad has returned to the Cricket Board of Maldives, this time taking on the task of developing junior cricket players.
Faiz worked for the past two decades as a Sports Supervisor in the education sector. Last month, he retired from Vilimale' Muhyidheen School after 16 years of service. Faiz, 72, said even then that he would not entirely give up sports even with his resignation from official service.
Cricket Board has now given Faiz the responsibility of coaching the Under 16 national cricket squad, manager, and interim coordinator of academies. He will be overseeing the junior program of the cricket board.
