President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Saturday, unveiled a revamped national beach volleyball training facility at the Redbull park in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale'.

Prior to its redevelopment, athletes frequently criticized the grounds.
President Solih, Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed and Minister of Youth, Sports and Community Engagement Ahmed Mahloof officially launched the grounds by playing against national team athletes, as well as a match against Maldivian volleyball veterans.

Speaking at the event, Volleyball Association of Maldives Interim Committee Member Mohamed Sajidh noted that the facility was appropriate compensation for the team's victory at the Indian Ocean Island Games in 2019.
Maldives volleyball team won the silver medal in the team category while achieving third in the individual category.
